GROUP LEADER TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of the Group Leader Training (GLT) is to help you explore a possible call to be a Connect Group Leader at CrossCreek! It’s an open-hand opportunity to explore whether you are called to be a Group Leader without any obligation to lead a group, while equipping you simultaneously.

TRAINING PROCESS

GLT is a 5-month process in a small group setting of 8-15 people where discussion is centered around what a Healthy Connect Group is and is not, and how to lead a healthy, growing, and multiplying group. Specific details on each of the 5 trainings are listed below with FAQs and a description.

Anyone! Whether you are getting ready to lead a Connect Group or just explore the idea of leading a group, the Group Leader Training is a good place to start. It gives everyone an opportunity to explore what it’s like to lead a healthy Connect Group without any obligation.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

New GLTs started throughout the year; primarily in the fall and spring semesters. A specific date will be given for those who are interested in participating in the next group.

Once a month for an 1.5 Hour Training on the topics listed below.

Once a month there will be a Video Training to watch on your own time (10-Minutes) and a In-Person Training (1.5 Hour).

A date and time will be established that works best for everyone’s schedule for each training.

You will be provide with the Group Leader Training Manual at the first meeting. Feel free to bring a notebook or device to take notes but the manual will have space to jot down your notes.

  • We want to learn more about you! Prior to the first meeting, everyone will fill out an assessment to share who they are, their involvement at CrossCreek, and the story God s writing through their life.

  • How a group starts matters! There are many opinions on what makes a group healthy, but it’s simpler than you think. Healthy groups begins with healthy leaders.

  • A Healthy Connect Group does not happen by accident but it takes an intentional effort to grow in quantity of people and quality of relationships. What if maybe by focusing on the quality of the relationships forged in a Healthy Group led to a greater quantity of people attending a group?

  • People are the mission! Healthy Groups are led by healthy Group Leaders that see potential in people and help them connect with Jesus’ vision for their life. Jesus’ preferred destination for His people is to be Disciple-Makers!

  • A Connect Group was never met to be led by one superstar leader. Within each groupare gifted people whom God has given, but they must be discover, developed, and deployed!

  • Healthy things multiply! Eventually there comes a moment when God stirs in a person’s heart to leave their existing group to launch a new healthy group. To ensure a successful and fruitful launch there are specific steps to be taken.
